Luke was born in Beaver County, growing up in Freedom, Pennsylvania. He graduated high school from Beaver County Christian, college from Grove City College, seminary from United Theological Seminary. Before taking the role as a pastor, Luke was a high school English Teacher in Pittsburgh and Shaler Twp.
Luke began in ministry as a church-hire for Bakerstown United Methodist Church, he served there for seven years with an expanding role in worship, youth ministry, pastoral preaching/care, and audio/visual ministry. Over that time, Luke became a local pastor and provisional elder, both appointed to Bakerstown UMC.
In 2020, Luke was appointed to the Faith/Riverview charge. It was an appointment to the communities of Rochester, PA and Patterson Twp.
Luke is married to Rachel (Kenzie) Whipple. They met in college and connected and deepened their relationship through several mission trips to Costa Rica. Luke and Rachel have four children :Evangeline, August, Joanna and William.
