Lois Jackson was born in Vandergrift, PA, and raised in the Church of God and eventually became a member of Widnoon United Methodist Church, currently living in Widnoon. She is a graduate from Elderton High School and is now enrolled in United Theological Seminary.
Lois has worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for her late husband’s construction business. During this time, she created and sold candles and soap at home parties and online sharing the light of God’s love to others.
While at Widnoon UMC, Lois served God by teaching adult Sunday School, leading praise, and worship, while holding several positions on church council including Lay Leader. Lois was also an active member of United Methodist Women as local secretary, program resources and Indiana District Communications and Treasurer.
God called Lois into the ministry after her husband of 37 years passed away. God uses our suffering to help others; he does not waste anything. After completing Licensing School in 2017, Lois was appointed to Valier Charge working with people in ministry by preaching, teaching Bible Study, hospital visits including Pittsburgh and home visits taking communion to shut ins. Lois also serves on District Location and Building Committee
Lois has two grown sons, two lovely daughters-in-law, a grandson and granddaughter. Interests include traveling, going to Sight and Sound Theater, walking, bicycling, and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys teaching candle and soap making classes at Jumonville CAT Camp.
