Bio
I was born and raised in the Mon Valley, specifically Charleroi. After graduating from Charleroi High School I enlisted in the United States Navy and served in Desert Storm. After returning home from the Navy, I worked in numerous fields, from being a dialysis equipment repairman to being an ASE certified Master Automotive Technician. After Sharon and I were married I began following my call into ministry. I attended California University of Pennsylvania and received a BA in History and a BA in Philosophy. After graduation I attended Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington DC. During my time at Cal U. and Wesley I served as pastor to the Fredericktown/Denbo Charge which later became part of the Greater Purpose Team Ministry, a collective of 8 congregations (Rices Landing, Jefferson, Fredericktown, Denbo, Howe, Roscoe, Mt. Tabor, and Allenport). Also during that time I started a construction company with a close friend. After graduating seminary, I left the construction business and was appointed to the Electric Heights/McMasters Charge, later becoming a single point charge at McMasters. While at McMasters I entered into the Leadership Excellence DMin program at Wesley seminary and graduating in 2014.
Over the course of my ministry I have received numerous ministry related and not-directly ministry related certifications, including: Personal Fitness Trainer, Health Minister, Community Leadership Fellows, Professional Administrators of the United Methodist Connectional Structure, Parliamentarian Certification, among others. During my ministry I have served as District Trustee Chair (Washington and Greensburg), District Board of Church Location and Building Chair (Washington and Greensburg), Greensburg District dCOM Registrar, Candidacy Guide, Greensburg District Anti-Racism Team, WPA Committee on Investigation, Conference Anti-Racism Team, WPA Conference Trustee Chairperson, Member Monroeville Interfaith Ministerium, Secretary of the Monroeville Recreation and Parks Advisory Committee, and Instructor for Be A Disciple/Wesley Academy.
Sharon and I are the proud parents of four amazing daughters, Carrie, Nikki, Sarah and Cayleigh and the grandparents of Nevaeh, Rishon, and LaTanya. As a family we enjoy spending time hanging out together on the back porch, Disney trips, the beach and taking cruises when possible. Personally I enjoy reading, teaching, playing golf, and being an advocate for persons who have been excluded or pushed to the margins.
