Bio
Sara J. Wrona was born in western North Carolina and relocated to western Pennsylvania when she was not quite 3 years old.  Growing up in New Kensington and spending summers in the south allowed her to experience different cultural settings.   Having been baptized in the Syrian Orthodox church, attending Catholic schools for 11 years, and attending Methodist and Baptist churches with her grandparents, Sara feels blessed and very secure in living out her faith and her call in the United Methodist church.
Before entering ministry, Sara worked in the human resource field and then in church administration for a Presbyterian Church.  After discerning her call to ministry, Sara first served as an associate pastor for the Allegheny River Charge, then moved to the Kiski Charge to serve as a co-pastor at the 3 point charge.  Since 2014 Sara has served at the Kiski Charge as the solo pastor of a 2 point charge. Since 2021, Sara has served as the senior pastor at Leechburg First UMC.   Sara completed the Course of Study at the West Virginia Extension of the Course of Study School of Ohio in 2013.
Sara is the Coordinator of Ministerial Services and the Board of Ministry Registrar for WPA.  She is currently serving as the President of the Board of Directors of Olmsted Manor.  She has served with the UM Rural Advocates, the UM Appalachian Ministry Network, the Rural Chaplains Association in the larger church. Sara has a passion for justice and outreach ministries and has a heart for being in ministry with all of God's children.
Sara and her husband, Paul, have been married for 35 years and have three grown children:  Rachel and her husband Jimmy, and twins Katy and Sean.  Sara loves her new role as Nanna to her grandson, Cannon.
