Senior Pastor
Amanda Mitchell is appointed to conference staff as the Coordinator of Young People’s Ministry. She has served as laity in this role since 2016. Through her Conference position, Amanda provides resources, connection, and leadership to local churches and their young people. Amanda has a degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University of PA and has volunteered in all types of ministry within the local church. Amanda loves helping youth and young adults grab hold of their calling and wants them to be equipped to lead in whatever setting they find themselves. She believes that ministry is not only all the big things, but the “million little things” pastors do to care deeply for the people God puts before them. She will continue to work as the Director of Discipleship at Monroeville UMC as a lay staff member where she leads the children’s ministry.
Amanda is an MDIV student at United Theological Seminary where she has is in her second year. She completed licensing school this summer and is a certified ministry coach. She also volunteers as the adult co-coordinator of the Northeast Jurisdiction Council on Youth Ministry and is one of the troop leaders in her daughter's Girl Scout troop.
She enjoys going to see movies, reading, and spending time with her two kids, Samuel and Olivia and her dog, Captain.
