Bio
I was born May 26th in Rochester, Pennsylvania to parents are Ronald and Roseanne Farls who are still living in Monaca in the house where I grew up.  Both parents are retired and still active and just celebrated their 62ndwedding anniversary. I have one sister, Rona, who works as a Veterinarian Technician at Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center. (PVSEC).  Her husband, Dino, is retired. I have two nieces, Sara with her husband, Sean and my great nephew, Sydney (7 years old) and great niece, Samantha (3 years) My other niece, Katherine (Katie), is also working at PVSEC and is married to Glenn since November 2022.

Being brought up as a Roman Catholic, I was taught how important religion and God was in my life.  Going to CCD (Sunday school) weekly, I found the I enjoyed being active in the church.  I became part of the children’s folk choir and ultimately becoming the director for a number of years.  Myself, along with several others would play the guitar and/or organ to traditional, as well as contemporary songs.  I then was asked to teach a CCD class; in which I was given the 6th grade.  I felt as though I was able to give my growing up experiences in and outside of the church to help my students live good Christian lives. I still felt something was missing so in 1997, I left the Catholic faith joined the Ambridge Methodist church. There I was able to begin my training to become a Certified Lay Minister.  I was actively involved in the church, being a member of the council, SPRC, webmaster for their website, and other committees.  I created a monthly bible study dinner events as well as spaghetti dinners to raise money for the church.  In 2010 I left Ambridge UMC to become a member of Christ Community Church, Butler, PA.  Being part of the audio/visual team for their contemporary service, I enjoyed my years, working alongside Rev Burrell until his retirement.  Assisting in services as well as preaching at the Saturday evening services.  Due to the driving distance (over 45 minutes), In 2013, I joined a church closer to home, Sheraden United Methodist/Christ Community charge where I assist Reverend Wayne Meyer, until his retirement, Reverend Barry Lewis, Interim pastor, Reverend Kelly Smith and now Pastor Matthew Grubbs, LLP, Senior Pastor with the services as well as preach, as needed.

I had been actively involved at the District (Butler) level as well as the Conference level.  A member of the Butler District lay school committee as well as teaching a course “History of the Bible” with Reverend Howard Burrell (retired), gave more insight to my role in the Methodist church.  On the Conference level, I was part of the Conference Connectional Network (formerly conference council) as well as a strategic planning and implementation committee member, which I ultimately became chairperson of, to restructure the conference staff and committees.  I continued my training to become a Certified Lay Minister, in which I held the Director position for almost 4 years. I was also the Butler District Disaster Response Coordinator for a number of years. Since the early 2000’s I have been going to Annual Conference in Grove City as either a lay member, equalization member or to work with the Sessions team on security. I am continually signing up for webinars to broaden my knowledge. Being part of the Pittsburgh District since 2013, I have been Senior Pastor for Muhleman Memorial in North Braddock for 2 years then came back to the SUMC/CCC charge in 2018 as Associate Pastor.
