Bio
I was born and raised in Franklin, PA and attended primary and secondary education in Franklin schools and graduated from Franklin Area Jr-Sr High School.  My home church from Cradle Roll through high school was First UMC.  I began my undergraduate studies at what was once Clarion College but graduated with BA in Human Resources Management from Pepperdine University, Los Angeles, CA.  I graduated with an MDiv from Duke Divinity School, Duke University, Durham, NC.
My Pre-Church work experience included nearly eight years of active duty with the US Navy during the Vietnam era serving with Helicopter Squadrons 2 and 10, both stationed in San Diego, CA (included an eight-month deployment in the Mediterranean on aircraft carrier, USS Independence.  I was honorably discharged in November, 1974.  After that I worked for Prudential Insurance and then as a Sub-Contract Buyer for Joy Manufacturing Company in Franklin, PA.
I entered ministry in January, 1983 and served as a Student Local Pastor for the Mt Tabor/Riverside UM Churches in Durham while attending Duke Divinity School.   Following graduation from Duke Divinity in 1986 I returned to the Western PA Annual Conference where I served the following local mchurches:
Eastbrook UMC, New Castle, PA, 1986-1991
First UMC of Union City, PA, 1991-2006
Grace UMC of Grove City, PA, 2006-2008
First UMC of Washington, PA, 2008-2010
First UMC of Erie, PA, 2010-2012
Retired from full time ministry December 2012 and moved to Florida where I became actively involved in New Walk Church in Zephyrhills, FL, until asked to serve as part-time interim pastor of First UMC of Seffner, FL, 2016-2018.
I returned to PA to serve part-time at the Cochranton UMC 2018-Present.
While serving the church in Western PA I served on both district and conference boards/agencies such as Wesley Woods, Olmsted Manor, both secretary and registrar for the Erie-Meadville DCOM,  While in Florida I was a volunteer chaplain at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills and a volunteer in the hospital's Physical Therapy Department office.  Now I am helping the Erie-Meadville District DCOM as a Ministry Candidacy Guide.
Pastor Terry is single with a son/wife and two grandsons living in NC, a daughter/husband and granddaughter living in Erie, four nephews, and a number of close friends who are like family to him.
Personal interests include long-distance bicycling, attending Duke University basketball games, fishing trips to Gustavus, Alaska, traveling with friends, and wearing his flip flops until the first significant snow of the winter season.
