Bio
Sung Shik Chung, a native of South Korea, has been serving in Western Pennsylvania Annual Conference since 2001. He earned a B.A. in theology from Hyupsung University, South Korea and received his Master of Divinity from Saint Paul School of Theology, Kansas. He was ordained an Elder in 2006 and is the first Asian to serve as District Superintendent in Western Pennsylvania Conference.
 
He has served Mercer (Associate Pastor), Clintonville Charge, West Middlesex in Franklin District; Otterbein in Greensburg District. He has served on the District Committee on Ordained Ministry on the districts, Believe Again Implementation Team, Conference Connectional Leadership Table, Board of Ordained Ministry, Ethnic Local Church Concerns, Rules Committee. He was elected to 2016 Jurisdictional Conference delegate and served as a reserve delegate to General Conference as well.
 
His passion for ministry is to share Christ’s love with all the people in daily ordinary life. He believes that every day is a blessing of God, every person is an image of God, every place there is the presence of God, and every moment is an opportunity to witness the love and grace of Jesus Christ.
