Born in Brookville, Pennsylvania, Mark has served the church for over 35 years in positions as director of music and organist in both New York (Goshen) and Pennsylvania (Brookville) UMCs and now as a Provisional Elder on the WPAUMC. Mark and his wife Michele entered the ministry with his first appointment with the Punxsutawney First United Methodist Church where he served as the Associate Pastor and Director of Outreach and Youth Ministries. Mark currently serves as the Senior Pastor for the Greater Blairsville Cooperative Parish on the Indiana District.
Mark recognized God’s hand on his life at his confirmation into the United Methodist Church at age 12. After 25 years in public education as a music teacher, school principal, assistant superintendent, and superintendent of schools, Mark entered the ministry, obtaining a Master of Divinity degree from United Theological Seminary. Following an early-morning encounter with God, God began to move powerfully in Mark’s life. Mark’s spiritual gifts of healing, faith, and word of knowledge demonstrate God’s anointing on his life and the manifestation of God’s Spirit in the world today. God’s love can be seen through the healing ministry that He has developed in Mark, all pointing to God’s glory. Mark’s goals in ministry are to share and demonstrate the gospel in every opportunity God puts before him, and to have others find and employ their own spiritual gifts so that through His Church, a hurting world can find a loving God.
Mark and Michele have two adult children, Elizabeth, who is a music specialist in the Curwensville Area School District; and Luke, who is a Secondary Mathematics Education major at the Pennsylvania State University, University Park.
