The Rev. Melody L. Kimmel was born in Meadville and raised in Kingsville, Ohio, just 15 minutes off of Lake Erie. In her time, she has been Baptist, Presbyterian, and United Methodist, and she spent time in local church ministry and in retail before answering God’s call to full-time Christian service.
Melody has an Associate of Arts degree and a Bachelor of General Studies with concentration in psychology and sociology from Kent State University, and a Master of Divinity from Methodist Theological School in Ohio after having attended classes at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, where she met her husband Jim; they have been married since 2002. She completed a unit of Clinical Pastoral Education from the Samaritan Counseling Center in New York. Licensed in 2012 and commissioned in 2016, she has served as pastor of the Robinson Memorial Chapel, the Clintonville United Methodist Charge, and the New Covenant United Methodist Charge, all in the Franklin District. Is currently serving the United in Christ Charge in the Washington District.
