I was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I received several educational degrees-an Associate of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Broward Community College, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religious Studies from the University of South Florida Tampa, Florida, and I received my Master of Divinity Degree from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY.
I grew up and was nurtured in my faith at Christ United Methodist Church in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I was very active in my home church by being in the Youth group, serving on the Youth Council, singing in the youth and adult choirs, and playing in the youth and adult handbell choirs. Serving outside of my home church, I worked as a camp director for Camp Outreach which was a camp for youth who were underprivileged and at high risk for gang involvement. In addition, I also worked as a Camp Counselor for Life for Youth Ranch. As a young adult, I volunteered in many Christian Education ministries (VBS, youth, etc.) and attending several mission trips. I believe these experiences only confirmed my call to enter ministry.
In 1992, I was commissioned as a Diaconal Minister of Christian Education in the Western PA Annual Conference. Some of my Diaconal Ministry experiences included serving as a Diaconal Minister of Christian Education and Youth at Bethel Park UMC as well as serving as a Diaconal Minister in two small Christian schools (Somerset Christian School in Somerset, PA, and Faith Christian School in Washington, PA). My experience and my growth in ministry led me to answer the call to become an ordained minister. In 2016, I was ordained as an Elder in the Western PA Annual Conference. I have served as an Associate Pastor for the Community Churches Charge in Washington, PA (Beallsville UMC, Mt. Zion UMC, Marianna UMC, Taylor UMC, and Centerville UMC). My other appointments have included serving as Senior Pastor at both Trinity UMC and Lawrence Park UMC both in Erie, PA.
In addition to serving in the churches listed above, I also have served in the Annual Conference by serving on the WPA Annual Conference's Episcopacy Committee for three years as well as serving on the Erie-Meadville District Committee on Ministry (DCOM). My spiritual gifts include teaching, helping, and administration.
My personal interests include spending as much time as I can with my family going on day trips including hiking and fishing. I also enjoy going to the Erie beaches in search for sea glass. Reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, doing crafts, and walking are activities I do to relax. I am a mother of two young men (Andrew 18 and Caleb 22). I am the wife of 25+ years to Ron who is also an Ordained Elder in the Western PA Annual Conference.
