First U M Church
Senior Pastor

The Rev. Kevin R. Haley was born in Sharon, PA, where he grew in his faith at the Sharon:First UM Church.  Kevin (aka Rev Kev) answered his call to ministry while in his high school years at Mercer Area High School.  Then he majored in communicative arts at Grove City College (with an emphasis in theater and speech) where he met the love of his life, Amy, his wife for 38 years this past May (2020); then he received his Masters of Divinity degree at United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.   Beginning as a student intern pastor while in college in the Kennard/Fallowfield area near Greenville, a student associate pastor in Beavercreek OH, he then has served in full-time ministry in inner city Wilkinsburg, Dunlo and Mineral Point in the mountains east of Johnstown, New Stanton (where he helped to build a new church facility), North Huntingdon, Warren, Clarion, and is currently at Greensburg:First UM Church.
Kevin and Amy have two adult children: Christopher (a philosophy lecturer at Waynesburg University and also at CCAC:West Mifflin campus) who is married to Julie (the former Director of Admissions at Asbury Heights in the South Hills), and Gregory (a chef with a strong love for music).  As an infant, Kevin had been adopted, drawing great insight from the idea that Christians are the adopted sons and daughters of the living God, and delights that in the past few years he has discovered and met his biological mother and four siblings!
Kevin’s interests, beyond sharing the love of Jesus with anyone and everyone, include singing, Christian camping, stained glass, carpentry, computer graphic design, and yard work.  A survivor of three types of cancer, Kevin cherishes a key Scripture as his life verse:  “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13).  He looks forward to life and continuing ministry at First United Methodist Church in Greensburg, serving within a district that he knows and loves and considers his second home!
