Rev. Ginger Thomas is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church and is a member of the North Carolina Annual Conference.  She was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida, and was educated at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, and at Duke Divinity School in Durham, North Carolina.  After receiving her Master of Divinity degree, she served as associate pastor at Epworth UMC in Durham from 2001 to 2005.  Ginger and her husband Rev. Dr. L. Roger Owens served as co-pastors of Trinity UMC in Franklin County, NC, from 2005 to 2008, and then at Duke Memorial UMC in downtown Durham, NC, from 2008-2013.  The family moved to Pittsburgh in 2013 when Roger became a professor at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.  Before her current appointment, Ginger spent time as retreat leader of a Two-Year Academy for Spiritual Formation sponsored by the Upper Room, as a leader of retreats through Fully Alive Retreat Ministries, and as worship coordinator at Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church.  She was appointed as associate pastor/pastor of administration at Baldwin Community UMC in 2018.  In her free time, Ginger enjoys traveling, crocheting, photography, and playing games with their three kids, Simeon, Silas, and Mary Clare.
