I was born in Crawford County Pa. I am fourth out of five children in my family. We were blessed with a Godly Mom and Dad who made sure we were in Sunday School and church each Sunday even in a blizzard we did not miss church.
I went to Saegertown schools my whole life graduating from there. I then went one year to St. Paul Bible College, now known as Crown College in Minnesota. I loved the school and strong Biblical teachings but Minnesota is a long journey in a van, so I changed to Geneva College in Beaver Falls Pa. graduating in Elementary Education. I then took classes at Edinboro University, now known as PennWest, to obtain my Mentally Physically Handicapped Certification. Due to continuing Ed. requirements I have a Masters+ 30 some credits in Education.
I taught for many years In Special Education from Gifted to the Severe and Profound Classrooms. I spent most of my years in the Learning Support Classroom. I truly loved my students and thanked God for my job.
As I taught full time I was always heading up or teaching children or Women's Ministries in my church, Pleasantview CMA. Along with that I wrote and directed church plays, started a children's ministry (Christ First Fridays). When some changes in our church caused some difficulties, I started attending Hamlin Chapel UMC, my Grandma's church.
At Hamlin I was asked to be liturgist, something I could not have done at my former church because women were not permitted to preach in the Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination. I also began to take some lay servant classes. Soon I was being asked to fill the pulpit. After much prayer I knew God would let me fill in for the Pastor. Three years down the road and much prayer and Bible study God spoke to my heart that it was ok for a woman to preach.
I have now been preaching at Mumford Chapel and Faith Geneva Church for six/seven years. I love my people and thank God for the opportunity to be pastoring these two churches. I have completed all my modules and classwork and am awaiting my certificate as a Certified Lay Minister. We have Christ 1st Fridays, Operation Christmas Child ( we plan to send 1,2000 boxes from our church this year!) We have 3 getting baptized this weekend! Our church has many intergenerational activities, including a Fall Foliage Tour on Conneaut Lake this October.
I love my family very much. We lost my Dad two years ago at 92 yrs old. My 87 yr. old Mom and oldest sister live next door, with my niece, her husband and two children on the other side of me. God continually blesses me with my family. I also have two fur babies, Patrick and Finny. Both were drop off kittens that now think they are in charge. I have had to move Finny off of my laptop 3 times since I started typing this so if there are any errors we'll blame it on him:)
I enjoy all animals and nature. God's handiwork never ceases to amaze me! I Iike to draw, paint, read, sing, act in and direct plays ( my Christian Service at St. Paul was the Traveling Drama Team), I love to write poetry and prose. I enjoy history and visiting historical places. I love to sit on the porch and visit. I am fascinated by people's life stories especially our elderly and how God worked in them and through them. I love God and sharing His love and plan of salvation with others. I would like to learn to play the piano or guitar but can't seem to find the time.
My life verse is Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
God is faithful and true and He continually guides me. Praise His Holy Name!
