Rev. Jerry Douglas Williams, 74, of Greenock, went to Heaven on May 9, 2023. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio and was the son of the late Homer and Bernetia (Duncan) Williams of South Portsmouth, Kentucky.
Jerry graduated from Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky and became licensed to preach in 1967 in the United Methodist Kentucky Conference. After serving several pastorates in Kentucky he transferred to the Pennsylvania Conference and completed his seminary work at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He served the Franklin: Lupher-Worden Chapel Charge, the Mapletown Charge: Mapletown, Mt. Pleasant, Shordon and Davistown churches, and the last 22 years of his ministry served as Pastor of the Trinity United Methodist in Trafford, PA. He retired in 2014 to Greenock, PA.
He is survived by his adoring wife of 52 years, Darlene (Sass) Williams; son, John (Taylor) Williams; daughter Amy (Daniel) McLaughlin; grandchildren, Bailey, Riley, Bryce and Macie; brothers, Robert (Sharon) Williams of Portsmouth, KY, and Todd Williams of Monroe, LA; and dogs Murphy and Roxy.
