Dorothy Weaver, 88, the wife of the Rev. John Weaver, passed away July 28, 2020, at home in Summerhill.
Born August 30, 1931, in Hastings, the daughter of Herbert and Elizabeth Mae (Canis) Lee, she was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, William Jewett; siblings Doris Evelyn Fowler, Robena Mae Stewart, Carrie Jean Hicks, Bert Lee, Harold Lee and Elizabeth June Wenzel. She is survived by her loving husband, Rev. John Weaver; children Dorothy Lynn “Dottie” (Dan) Snyder, Gary Jewett and daughter-in-law, Cynthia Jewett; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was a graduate of Hastings Elder High School and formerly employed by the Ebensburg Center. She was a life member of the Hastings United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, as well as a member of South Fork Lions Club.
Friends were to be received from 3– 7p.m., Thursday, July 29 at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria and from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m., Friday at Hastings United Methodist Church. Rev. Jack Emerick was to officiate. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Hastings.
