Ruth Mae Shindledecker, 74, of DuBois, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at Jefferson Manor in Brookville. She was the wife of the Rev. Tim Shindledecker, a retired local pastor in the Indiana District.
Born on Jan. 18, 1942, in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Clarence E. Bochert and Helen R. Yount.
She was an excellent mother and enjoyed playing the piano, singing in the choir, gardening, spending time in the outdoors, camping, sight-seeing, and walking her beloved dogs, Ginger and Brandi.
She was involved with Parent-Teacher Association, was a band mother, and volunteered with Clearfield County Youth Field Day.
Mrs. Shindledecker attended Christ Lutheran Church in DuBois, where she was very active; and was a recent member of Lakeside United Methodist Church.
A 1960 graduate of DuBois Area High School, she worked as a dental assistant for Dr. George Cherry, and at Gourmet Kitchen and Sears.
She is survived by two sons, Scott Shindledecker of DuBois, and Todd Shindledecker and wife Heidi Marzolf of Reynoldsville; a brother, David Bochert and wife Audrey of Ridgway; and a sister, Carol Bochert of Punxsutawney.
Visitation was at Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc. on Nov. 29, 2016. A memorial service was to be scheduled at a later date.
