Jane Kunkle Rulong, 87, wife of the Rev. Roger Rulong, of Mt. Lebanon, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on Monday, November 12, 2018. She was 87 years old.
Jane and the Rev. Roger Rulong, a retired elder who survives, recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. Born Dec. 19, 1930 in Homer City, PA, she met and married her college sweetheart at Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky. She was a partner in ministry with him, serving United Methodist congregations in Western Pennsylvania, including Cookport - Indiana County, Noblestown, Ballantyne - McKeesport, Dutilh - Cranberry Township, Baldwin Community, First Church - Kittanning, First Bethel - Bethel Park, First Church - Clarion, and as superintendent of the Johnstown District.
Jane was a gifted pianist, devoted pastor's wife, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed family, and her love and devotion will be forever cherished by them.
She was the loving mother of Roger (Kathy) Rulong, Jr. of Collier Township, David (Susan) Rulong of Sandusky, Ohio, John (Lisa) Rulong of Bethel Park, and Mary Jane (Michael) Novak of Great Falls, Virginia; grandmother to Evan Rulong of Columbus, Ohio, Kate (Vincent) Sanzone of Columbus, Ohio, Natalie (Kevin) Stauffer of Columbus, Ohio, Matthew Rulong of The Woodlands, Texas, Geoffrey (Gretchen) Rulong of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Carolyn Jane (Timothy) Mattock of Fox Chapel, John (Mae) Rulong of Bethel Park, Patrick Rulong of Mt. Washington, Dylan Novak of Great Falls, Virginia and Bennett Novak of Great Falls, Virginia; great-grandmother of Elliot Rulong, Wyatt Rulong, Vincent Sanzone, Violet Sanzone, Tyler Stauffer, Alba Rulong, Marc Rulong, Emeline Jane Rulong, Winston Rulong, Grace Mattock, and Gwendolyn Jane Mattock. Also surviving are brothers, Lisle H. (Hazel) Kunkle of Indiana, Pennsylvania, John H. (Mary) Kunkle of San Antonio, Texas, James R. (Andi) Kunkle of Lake County, Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lisle H. and Mary H. Kunkle; her beloved aunt Margaret Harris; brother Calvin Kunkle; and sister Mary Kunkle Reinhold.
A memorial service will be held at the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11 a.m. The family will welcome guests from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

This fund provides assistance for children attending summer camp at the Jumonville United Methodist Camp and Retreat Center in Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
