Rev. Horace Blair "H. B." Pollock , a retired elder, passed away on Tuesday, March 07, 2017 at his daughter's home in Shelocta, PA.
He was born August 13, 1925 in Marion Center, PA, the son of the late Wilbur Carl Pollock and Emma Winifred (Neal) Pollock.
Licensed to preach by the Evangelical United Brethren Church and ordained in elder in 1960, he served EUB and, after merger of denominations, United Methodist churches including Oak Ridge/Fairmount City; Sewickley: Little Hill; East Connellsville/Pennsville; Rochester Zion; Swissvale; Mount Pleasant Trinity; and Monongahela First. He retired from active ministry in1990.
Rev. Pollock and his wife Dorothy were both graduates of Blairsville High School, Class of 1943, Nyack Missionary College, Geneva College and Presbyterian Seminary in Pittsburgh, PA. He was a US Navy veteran serving during WW II.
He is survived by his daughters: Carol Joy Pollock of Indiana, PA, Judy Scarpone and husband David of Monroeville, PA and Marilyn Sue Pollock and husband Mark Gamble of Shelocta, PA; grandson, Reid Bandremer of Greenfield, PA and great-grandson Chase Bandremer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean (Mologne) Pollock.
The family will receive friends at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., Blairsville, PA on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 6 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11a.m. with the Rev. Thomas C. Spiker officiating. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery.
