Morris, Marilyn Wickerham
Marilyn (Wickerham) Morris, of Brooksville, Fla., wife of the Rev. James J. Morris, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at the age of 84.
Born Oct. 7, 1933, in Monongahela, to Joseph and Aline Wickerham, Marilyn is survived by her husband of 62 years; daughters, Lynn (Malcolm) Andrews of Mt. Lebanon, Barbara (GH) Trumbo of Brooksville, Fla., Beverly (Joseph) Yakubisin of Level Green, and Robin (Robert) Zang of Penn Hills; and son Robert (Kathy) Morris, of Barboursville, W.Va. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Marilyn received her bachelor's degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College and master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and Emeritus Club of West Virginia Wesleyan College. Marilyn taught home economics for 25 years at the McKeesport Area School District.
She was also a partner in ministry with her husband Jim for 41 years as they served the following Western PA Conference churches: McDonald United Methodist Church (UMC), Hilltop (Pittsburgh) UMC, Wesley UMC, Rosedale UMC and Trinity UMC in Brackenridge. She was instrumental in many church activities including choir, United Methodist Women, church camps and International Village of McKeesport.
In retirement, Marilyn continued to volunteer for Mariner UMC, First UMC of Spring Hill, High Point Golf Club and Pittsburgh Tarentum Campground. She loved cooking and baking for her family and friends.
A memorial service was scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2018, in Mariner UMC.
Another memorial service was scheduled at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Pittsburgh Tarentum Campground in Natrona Heights.
