MORRIS, Marilyn Joan (Wickerham) of Brooksville, FL passed away June 19, 2018 at the age of 84.
She was born on October 7, 1933 in Monongahela, PA to Joseph and Aline Wickerham. Marilyn is survived by her husband, James J. Morris of 62 years. Also surviving are their daughters, Lynn (Malcolm) Andrews of Mt. Lebanon, PA, Barbara (GH) Trumbo of Brooksville, FL, Beverly (Joseph) Yakubisin of Level Green, PA, and Robin (Robert) Zang of Penn Hills, PA; and son, Robert (Kathy) Morris of Barboursville, WV. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Ray Wickerham.
Marilyn received her bachelor's degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College and master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and Emeritus Club of West Virginia Wesleyan College.
Marilyn taught home economics for 25 years at the McKeesport Area School District. She was also a partner in ministry with her husband Jim for 41 years as they served several Western PA Conference churches including McDonald United Methodist Church (UMC), Hilltop (Pittsburgh) UMC, Wesley UMC, Rosedale UMC, and Trinity UMC. She was instrumental in many church activities including choir, United Methodist Women, church camps, and International Village of McKeesport. In retirement, Marilyn continued to volunteer for Mariner UMC, First UMC of Spring Hill, High Point Golf Club, and Pittsburgh Tarentum Campground. She loved cooking and baking for her family and friends.
A Memorial Service was held June 29, 2018 at Mariner UMC. There was also a Memorial Service at Pittsburgh Tarentum Campground in Natrona Heights, PA, July 28, 2018.
