Rev. Gerald H. Miller, 75, of Townville, passed away Saturday morning, Nov. 11, 2017, at Country Acres Personal Care Home in Titusville.

Jerry was born on June 8, 1942 in Meadville, Pa., a son of Betty Gelnet Miller Knapp Barr and the late Harris Miller. He was married to Mabel Haag on June 15, 1963 at the Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church at Grampian, Pa.

A graduate of Brookville High School, class of 1960, and of Penn State University, he attended seminary in Washington, D.C. and served as pastor for the four churches of the New Millport United Methodist charge; three churches on the Fishertown United Methodist charge; and three churches on the Diamond United Methodist charge, from where he retired in 2007.

He later attended the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church.

He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Mabel, of Townville; his mother, Betty Barr, of Brookville; four children: Gerald R. "Jerry" Miller and wife Tonya of Bedford, Marcie Hillegass and husband Brad of Schellsburg, Stephen Miller and wife Rhonda of Bedford, and Wendy Miller of Titusville; 12 grandchildren: Brian, Cheyenne, Dakota, Derek and Sierra Miller, Austin, Colby and Tiffany Hillegass, Leah and Eli Miller, Ian Evans and Gavin Cochran; a brother, Mark Knapp and wife Janice of Brookville; two sisters, Debbie Park and husband Dean of Brookville, and Pam Lightcap and Bob of Dayton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death recently by a niece, Mindy Bowser.

Funeral services were set for Wednesday morning at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, with the Rev. Alice McClymonds, pastor of the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment was in Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Grampian, Pa.

The family asks that memorials be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children 1645 W. 8th Street Erie, PA 16505 or to any local chapter of the Salvation Army.
