Ludlow, Frances Anne
Frances Anne Ludlow, 84, of Takoma Park, MD, the surviving spouse of the Rev. Willis Ludlow, passed away on August 11, 2016 from a sudden illness.
Anne was predeceased by her parents, Bruce and Helen Mellis; her brother, Richard Malcolm Mellis, and her husband of 41 years, Willie Ludlow., who died in 1998. He transferred to the Western Pennsylvania Conference in 1995 after serving in campus and higher education ministries in other areas, to serve as pastor of the Community of Reconciliation in Pittsburgh's Oakland section.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Suzanne Ludlow and Vincent Taylor, of Silver Spring, MD; Geoffrey and Sonya Ludlow of San Bernardino, CA; Martin and Kim Ludlow of Los Angeles, CA, and Wesley and Jeananne Ludlow of Fort Collins, CO. She deeply loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She leaves many good friends across the country and in Takoma Park.
Anne was born and raised in Oregon, received a BA from Willamette University and an MA from Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA. She and her husband, Willie were activists from the 1950s on. She loved peace, justice and baseball. Anne lived in nine other states before moving to Takoma Park in 1998, after the death of her husband.
A celebration of her life will be held in the Takoma Park area on October 8. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of one''s choice may be made.
