Donald E. Krestar 66, of Somerset, died December 1, 2021 at UPMC Somerset.
Born December 5, 1954 in Johnstown, he is the son of the late Leonard and Marjorie (Woollaston) Krestar. He is survived by his wife Karen L. (Meese) Krestar; brothers Daniel William Krestar and wife Kathleen and Jay Paul Krestar and wife Wendy; Nieces and nephews Ross William Krestar and wife Maura, Dana Ann Krestar Bolvin and husband Travis, Ethan Robert Krestar, Emily Ann Krestar Madison and husband Austin; Great nephews Gavin William Krestar, Layne Anthony Bolvin, and Curtis Anthony Bolvin, and brother-in-law Jon A. Meese and wife Terrie.
Don was a retired elder of the Western Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church and sang with and the WPAUMC Ministers Chorus. He also served in the Western Pennsylvania District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and was a member of the Rockwood Rotary and Conemaugh Lions Club
Don served several churches as a student pastor, including Elton United Methodist Church, Salix United Methodist Church, Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, Bowersdale United Methodist Church, and Caylor Chapel United Methodist Church and Abbotsville United Methodist Church in Greenville, OH.
He served as pastor at Rockwood United Methodist Church, Milford United Methodist Church, Jennerstown United Methodist Church, Bethany United Methodist Church, St. John's United Methodist Church, Conemaugh United Methodist Church and Conemaugh Presbyterian Church.
He also served as visitation pastor at Somerset Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, interim pastor at Berlin Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and Rockwood Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.
A celebration of Don's life will be held Saturday December 18, 2021 at 10:30 am in the First United Methodist Church, Somerset with Reverend Larry McDonnell, Reverend Tim Dietrick, Reverend Dave McCall, Reverend Tom Brown, Daniel Krestar and Jay Krestar officiating.
