Rev. Kimberly M. (Hoyle) King, 57, pastor of Owensdale and Jacob's Creek United Methodist churches, entered into eternal life with Jesus, her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. She was surrounded by her loving family at UPMC Shadyside Hospital as she reunited with family and friends who loved the Lord and welcomed her home.
Kim worked in the family business, King’s Electric, as an electrician alongside her husband Jeff and sons Michael and Jeffrey, until God called her into pastoral ministry. She began serving as a part-time associate pastor in 2006 at the Four Point Ministries Charge, which include Owensdale and Jacob's Creek, and was appointed as senior pastor of the two churches in 2009.
Kimberly is survived by her husband, Jeffrey S. King, Sr. of Owensdale, who she married on May 29, 1982, and their family: daughter Misty Dawn Peterson, sons Michael Scott (Sheree) King and Jeffrey Scott King; Michael and Sheree's son Caleb, his wife Kelly and their son Ryan, and Jeffrey's companion Melissa Sullenberger.
Kim is also survived by a sister, Charlotte (Ken) Eutsey, nephews Todd Alan, his wife Brandi and children Austin, Alex and Brook; and Craig Scott. Kim's brother Danny Hoyle and his children Austin Hoyle and Danielle Hoyle and her companion Dominic also survive. Also surviving are
Kim reunites with her parents Daniel and Clara Zwierzelewski Hoyle, who passed away in 2006 and 2009, respectively, as well as her in-laws and her sister Diane Kaufman who have entered into eternal life.
The family lifted a special thanksgiving prayer to her church family at Jacob’s Creek and Owensdale UMCs and beyond. Your love is greatly appreciated. Kim was also an Honorary member of Everson Volunteer Fire Department.
Due to the strict guidelines at this crucial time, a private family visitation, service and interment will be held with Kim's friend, Rev. Dennis Henley, officiating.
A drive-thru visitation will be held at the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale Saturday, April 11 from 11:45AM – 1:30PM. The family asks that mourners refrain from exiting the vehicle.
