Lois Jane Leyshon King, 71, of Blairsville, who was the widow of the late Rev. Richard M. King, passed away peacefully on Dec. 6, 2016 in her home due to complications of Parkinson's Disease.
Born Nov. 10, 1945 in Sharpsville, PA, to the late Jack and Esther (Perrine) Leyshon, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Blairsville and for many years enjoyed being a pastor's wife and serving in that church. She also loved keeping her house, decorating and snuggling with her pets, especially her cats.
She is survived by her daughter Rebecca (Irwin) Platt and husband Bill of Blairsville, PA; daughter Heidi Irwin of Savannah, GA; step-son Rick King and wife Ruth of Northeast, PA; step-daughter Suzie Spacht of NorthEast, several grandchildren and step-grandchildren; sister Eileen Ray and husband Francis of OH; brother Donald Leyshon and wife MaryAnne of AZ; brother Gene Leyshon of Sharon, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. King in 2007. The funeral service was held at the First United Methodist Church, Blairsville on Dec. 10. with Pastor Dan Cunkelman officiating. Interment was in the Blairsville Cemetery.
