Nicola Grenci, 91, of Washington, died Thursday, December 24, 2020, in Southminster Place of Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington.
He was born July 13, 1929, in Baltimore, Md., a son of the late Frank and Carmella Sorrentino Grenci. A graduate of Dundalk High School in Maryland, he went on to graduate from Clarion State Teachers College, now Clarion University, and Wesley United Methodist Seminary.
On August 12, 1949, in Dundalk, Md., he married the love of his life, Wenda, who preceded him in death in November of 2000.
Ordained an elder in 1964, he served churches in the Indiana District, including the Chloe Charge, Falls Creek and Lanes Mills; the Washington District, including Jefferson Ave., Rogersville and Valley Chapel; in New Castle and Shannopin/Glenwillard in Pittsburgh District. He retired from active ministry in 1994.
Surviving are a son, Andrew Frank (Cheryl Six) Grenci of Niantic, Conn.; two daughters, Wenda Marie (Donald) Brauchler of Washington and Mary Carla Grenci of Creswell, Oregon; a brother, Frank (Beverley) Grenci of Hagerstown, Md.; a grandson Nicholas Ray (Cristin) Brauchler, and a great-granddaughter Rae Marie Brauchler.
All services were private and entrusted to Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Directors, Inc.
