Goldye LeAnn Getschman, 88, of Meadville passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the Rev. Robert Getschman, who survives. 

Born on May 22, 1929 in Bellaire, OH, the daughter of the late Kenneth Timberlake and Josephine Workman Timberlake, she married Robert Getschman, a retired Associate Member of the Conference  on September 13, 1962. He survives. They served the New Millport/Bloomington/Mount Zion/O'Shanter churches from 1982-1988; Brownsville First UMC from1988 to 1989, when West Bend was added to the charge, then moved to serve the Reno /Oak Hill charge from1990-1995, when he retired. In retirement, the Gertschmans served the MCM Co-op Parish: Monroe Chapel/Curllsville/Shippenville: Manor from1995-2000 and the Jackson Center: Vincent/Hendersonville/ Millbrook: Schoefield Charge from 2000-2007.

Goldye graduated from Lincoln Memorial University with a bachelors degree in Physical Education. A member of Zeta Tau Kappa while attending college, Goldye was an active volunteer in the beginnings of the Special Olympics.

Goldye was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Meadville. She enjoyed crafts and crossword puzzles.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters: Chelsea Hansen of Colorado, Betsy Sumerfield and her husband Jim of Meadville, Brandy LeAnn Samuels and her husband Pete of Carlisle, PA, two grand children: Erin Kylia Sumerfield of Pittsburgh, and James Sumerfield, Jr. of Meadville. Goldye was preceded in death by a sister: Kendra Keller, and a brother: Chatt Timberlake.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
