Betty Hathaway Ellenberger, 89, widow of the late Rev. Percy "Jay" Ellenberger and a former resident of Rices Landing, died February 6, 2020.
Rev. Ellenberger served as a supply pastor in the Methodist Pittsburgh Conference beginning in 1961 in the Monongahela Circuit. He was ordained as an elder and full member of the Western PA United Methodist Conference in 1970 and served Punxsutawney Larger Parish from 1970-1972; Cloe/Covode/Steffy UMCs from 1972-1973; Brockway: Moorhead 1973-1976; Dawson: Bryan/Cochran Memorial/Little Summit/Vanderbilt 1976-November 15, 1978; Kennard/Fallowfield/Old Salem November 15, 1978- 1982; Somerset: First 1982-1986 and Pleasantville from1986-1987, when he was granted disability leaver. He died June 23, 1989.
A committal service for Betty Ellenberger was held on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Greene County Memorial Park, where the Rev. Ellenberger is buried. Arrangements were entrusted to the Paul M. Lesako Funeral Home Inc., 204 Dowlin Ave., Carmichaels, PA, 15320, (724)966-5100.
