Deborah grew up in Waltz Mill, Westmoreland County. She received a BA from Penn State (1973) and an MDiv and MA from United Theological Seminary (1977). In 1978, Deborah was commissioned a Deaconess, consecrated as a Diaconal Minister, and certified as a Director of Christian Education in the United Methodist Church. Later, she was certified as a Minister of Christian Education (1996) and ordained to the order of Deacon (1998) in the United Methodist Church. Although at various times she has served in pastoral ministry and ministries to seniors, women, and Native Americans, most of her career Deborah served her true passion in ministering to young children and their families. For more than 20 years that ministry was through King School Kids child care center and to the children of First Bethel United Methodist Church in Bethel Park, PA. Deborah retired in 2020.
Memorial donations in Deborah’s name may be made to King School Kids, 5901 Library Road, Bethel Park, PA 15102.
