Rev. Robert L. Critchlow, 87, of Castle Shannon, died peacefully on Sunday evening, September 25, 2016. He was serving in retirement as the pastor of West Homestead United Methodist Church.
Rev. Bob was a Methodist minister for 58 years. Beginning his ministry as a supply pastor in the former Erie Conference, he served Conneautville/Dicksonburg/Palmer UMCs from 1960-1963 and Manor from 1963-1966, then attended school from 1966 to 1970, when he was ordained an elder and appointed to the Greenwood UMC in Connellsville. He later served as pastor of Grace UMC in New Brighton, Rosedale, Penns Woods, Castle Shannon and Cabot UMCs. He retired in 1991, but later served in retirement for six years at Evergreen UMC. In 2005, he began serving the West Homestead church.
Beloved husband of Bonnie Lou Critchlow; father of Deborah (Stan) Dougherty, Paulette (Robert) Crisman, Thomas (Dee) Critchlow, Geneva (Michael) Exler and Blair (Shannon) Riley; grandfather of Anna, Emily, Louis, Mackenzi, Daniel, Ian and Amanda; also survived by three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and adopted grandchildren.
Friends were to be received at LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1008 Castle Shannon Blvd., Castle Shannon on Thursday, September 29, from 3-8 p.m. His funeral service was scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 30 at West Homestead United Methodist Church, 515 E. 8th Avenue, Homestead, PA 15120.
Interment was to follow at 1:30 p.m. in Graceland Cemetery, New Castle, PA.
