Nancy K. Starr Brickner, 77, of Patterson Township, died Tuesday, November 13, 2018. She served three churches as a Student Local Pastor.
Born April 30, 1941, in Rochester, she was the daughter of the late William L. Starr and Lilly Corless Starr Rieth and stepdaughter of the late William J. Rieth.
A Registered Nurse, she earned a Master of Divinity degree from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and served as a student pastor at Christ Community Church in McKees Rocks, Brush Run United Methodist Church in South Beaver Twp., and Emmanuel United Methodist Church in New Castle.
She had a love of reading and doing crafts.
She is survived by her former husband, Donald J. Brickner, Patterson Twp.; a daughter and son-in-law, Allison K. and Joshua Merritt, Patterson Twp.; a granddaughter, Ashleigh Merritt, who was the joy of her life; and a brother and a sister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother.
As per her wishes, she was cremated and there was no visitation. A private burial was in Millcreek Cemetery, Hookstown, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, if desired, to the New Brighton Public Library.
