Lash, Jean Kennedy


Jean Kennedy Lash of Freedom passed away on  December 31,2013 at Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford. A memorial celebration was scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, January 18, 2014  at Dutilh United Methodist Church in Cranberry Twp.

She was the beloved wife of Rev Robert S. Lash, and loving mother of Cheryl (Ronald) Wenner of Oklahoma, Mark(Lynda) Kennedy of Franklin Park, Timothy Kennedy of Erie, John (Carrie) Kennedy of McKean and step-daughters, Rita Lash of Melbourne, FL and Kathy ( William) Fuller of Brighton Heights.  She also was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was dearly loved not only by family and friends, but members of her book club and two special people in her life, Jack and Kay Rimer.

n addition to cherishing her role as a pastor’s wife she was a registered nurse and took great pride in being the first married woman accepted into the Washington Hospital School of Nursing as a commuting student.  For many years she was head nurse in the coronary care unit of Monongahela Valley Hospital. 

A devout Christian and member of Dutilh United Methodist Church, she was an excellent Bible study teacher and musician, playing the organ and singing in a number of church and community choral groups. She was regarded by her family and friends as an exceptionally spiritual woman with extraordinary judgment and wisdom.
