Dorothy E. Blank, 84, of Arbutus Park Retirement Community, went to be with her Lord Dec. 18, 2013, following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Robert Blank.
Born Sept. 17, 1929, in Pitcairn, daughter of Clair and Minola (Brown) Baker, she is survived by children, Dennis of Charlottesville, VA.; Dawna, married to Larry Johnson, of Altavista, VA.; and Rev. Daniel, married to Kim (Long),of Marietta, Pa. Also survived by grandchildren, Dennis Mark Blank, Pittsburgh; Chris Blank, married to Theresa, Pittsburgh; and Jonathon Blank, married to Erica, Portsmouth, Va.; and great-grandchildren, Cole, Bradyn and Tristan Blank. Also survived by 26 nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Blank was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Hollsopple, where she served many years in church activities and was an active volunteer at Arbutus Park Retirement Community. She loved her Lord, family and friends and will be greatly missed.
orothy was a devoted pastor’s wife, mother and grandmother who loved people, entertaining and giving to others.
A funeral service was held Dec. 23 at Bethel UMC with the Resv. Keith Dunn and David Bowman officiating. Internment was in Custer Cemetery.
The family expressed gratitude to the staff of the Doerr Wing at Arbutus Park Manor and the staff of AseraCare Hospice for their loving care and compassion.
