Rosemary Basinger, 87, of Normalville, wife of the Rev. John R. Basinger, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012 in Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. 

She was born September 21, 1925 in Normalville a daughter of the late Carl C. and Lola Belle Miller Brooks. Rosemary was a graduate of Connellsville High School with the Class of 1943. She worked as a Civil Defense Aircraft riveter in Philadelphia. She also worked at Murphy's 5&10 Store in Connellsville, and was the owner of Basinger's Beauty Shop in the 1960's. In addition she also worked for Murphy's Mart in the Laurel Mall for a number of years and then retired.

Rosemary was a former member of the Normalville United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School for many years. She currently attended the Indian head Church of God. Rosemary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by her loving husband of 66 years Rev. John Basinger, her children Gregory Basinger and wife Bonnie of Mill Run, Douglas Basinger and wife Kathy of Indian Head, and Marcia Miller and husband Kevin of Normalville, her grandchildren Chad Basinger and wife Kristin, Cary Basinger and wife Rachel, Carissa Basinger, Rebecca Ritenour and husband Ed., Melanie Yothers and husband Chad, and Lindsay Moore and husband Caleb, her great grandchildren Mason, Gwen, Taney, and Tagan Basinger, Alyssa Ritenour, Kylee Yothers, and Amelia Moore, and her sister Patricia Laws and husband Donald of Bear Rocks.

In addition to her parents Rosemary was predeceased by a son Terry Basinger, her sisters Louise McKnight and Jean Nudo and her brothers Jack, Roger, and Richard Brooks.

A funeral service was held Nov. 31 at Brooks Funeral Home in Connellsville. A committal service and interment followed in the Normalville Cemetery.
