The Rev. William B. Huson, 88, of Ferndale died Aug. 24, 2015, at his residence.
A member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church in Johnstown, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Ordained an elder in 1960, he served several churches throughout western Pennsylvania, including: Liberty 1960-1964; Pittsburgh: Emory 1964-1966; Verona First 1966-1969; McKeesport: Jenny Lind/Shoemaker 1969-1970; Green Valley: Shippingport/Georgetown/Bethel 1970-1972; Johnstown: Park Avenue 1972-1982; Coal Center: Grace 1982-1987; and Waynesburg: Washington Street 1987-1993. He retired in 1993, but served Beaverdale UMC from 1995-1997 in retirement.
Born Oct. 15, 1926, in Berlin, N.H., son of William E. and Catherine (Russell) Huson. Preceded in death by his parents; son William; and brother Leslie. He is survived by his wife, the former Ruth McKay, and children Denise Lynn (Mark Miller) of Everett; Scott Michael of Johnstown, and Lori Ann (Robert Paratore) of Johnstown. Also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, brother Philip of New Jersey; and sisters Catherine of Ebensburg; Florence of Latrobe; and Grace Divins of DuBois.
Friends were received at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, where a funeral service was held August 27 with the Rev. Arnold McFarland officiating. Interment was in Richland Cemetery.
