Rev. H. Dale Reitz passed away on Sunday morning, July 13, 2014 at Warren General Hospital after a brief stay under Hospice Care.
He was born July 21, 1933, in Heathville, the son of the late Walter and Elva Myers Reitz.
He served 42 years with the Western PA Conference of the United Methodist Church in various locations, retiring in 2002 in the Warren area.
A long-time member of the Order of St. Luke, he served on both the Jefferson and Warren County Housing Authority boards of directors.
He enjoyed ceramics, playing the organ and piano. After retiring, he enjoyed gardening, bird watching and jigsaw puzzles.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Seigworth Reitz, who he married on Nov. 26, 1960; two daughters, Tammy (Scott) Emberg of Warren, and Lisa (John) Swartz of Tidioute; and five grandchildren, Tricia (Michael) Wilt of Bradford, Joseph (Christina) Hollern of Sheffield, Joshua Holleran of Pittsburgh, Jessica Lester of Warren, and Carly (Nash) Nester of Grand Valley. He is also survived by one sister, Irene Lauer of Lucinda; one brother, Beryl Reitz of Venus; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers; and one sister.
Family and friends were received Tuesday, July 15 at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc.in Warren. and on Wednesday morning from until the funeral service at the Covenant United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Marcus Briggs officiating.
