Rev. Henry (Hank) Arden Morris, 85, of Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on March 24, 2014.
Rev. Morris is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Jean (Earl); his children, Pastor Ruth Ann, married to Robert Moore; Lois Elaine, married to Joseph Howanec; Keith Alan, married to the former Dr. Marie (Schuessler); Ronald Jay and his friend, Kenna Raymond; and Karen Lynne, married to Dr. Michael Moriarty; sister Eleanor Sauer; grandchildren Nancy, married to Jeff Boring; Jeannie, married to John Manning; Jesse Morris; Alexander Morris; Amanda (Jones), married to Jeff Hoffman; Sophia Moriarty; Tirzah Moriarty; and Sarah Moriarty; and great-grandchildren, Patrick Moore, Destiny Moore, Justin Jones, Jared Jones and Nathaniel Boring (will be born in June 2014).
Born on Dec. 11, 1928, in Cambridge Springs, Pa., in December of 1946, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and received a call to the Methodist ministry in the summer of 1948. A graduate of Houghton College and Westminster Seminary, Rev. Morris retired from active ministry with 40-plus years serving in New London, Kemblesville, Flint Hill, Rockland, Van, Croton Avenue, New Castle, Falls Creek, Lanes Mills, Seward, Armagh, DuBois First, Corry First, Greenville Calvary and Oakland.
Friends were to be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. March 27 at Henderson Funeral Home, East Hills, 2503 Bedford St., and from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday at Roxbury St. Paul United Methodist Church in Johnstown with Dr. Michael Moriarity and Pastor Ruth Ann Moore officiating.
