Mary K. Fleischman, 88, of Jamestown, Pa., who served as a pastor and was ordained a deacon in the Western PA Conference, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 24, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Harold E. and Keturah (Byer) Browne. She married Rev. John F. Fleischman Sr., who survives, on Sept. 1, 1951; he survives.
Licensed to preach in 1986, she served as an associate pastor for churches in the New Hope Parish along with her husband, served three years in the West Ohio Conference, then returned to served Geneva: Faith UMC. She retired in 1994.
She enjoyed singing and was a member of many church choirs and the organist at various churches throughout her life.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, John F. Fleischman Jr., of Saxonburg, Daniel L. Fleischman and his fiancee Marie Queen of Butler, Marc E. Fleischman and his wife Robyn, of Sarver, and Philip A. Fleischman and his wife Mary, of Waxhaw, N.C.; two daughters, Sarah E. Clark and her husband Jeff of Wisconsin, and Rebekah L. Dietrich and her husband Daniel A., of Stoneboro; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold E. Browne Jr.
A private memorial service was held for the family. Arrangements were by the Randall Funeral Home in Jamestown, PA.
