As part of their covenant with one another and with the church, the Book of Discipline requires that every clergy person participate in ethics training every quadrennium.
To address this ongoing need, a WPAUMC team will offer five regional trainings in January and February of 2018. The team is intentionally made up of a deacon, two local pastors and an elder; each of whom has received thorough training through Faith Trust Institute for facilitating this sort of program. Team members are excited about the material and understand the critical nature of ethics conversations for clergy and local churches. Expect the training to be participatory, engaging and enlightening.
All clergy will be expected to attend a full training at any one of the five sites. There will be a small fee to cover a book and lunch.
"We are praying for this work and look forward to our time together," said the Rev. Susan Moudry, director of clergy excellence, who has been working with the Cabinet, the clergy orders and fellowship, the Board of Ministry and others to enable the training sessions.
More information will be provided soon and a formal letter of invitation will go out by December. You are encouraged to save one of the dates below.
