Orientation to Ministry Scheduled for June 7

4/15/2014

An Orientation to Ministry, sponsored by the Conference Board of Ordained Ministry, will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2014 in Rathburn Hall at Grove City College.

Two tracks are offered:

  • Track A:  9:30-noon:  The Orientation is a requirement for anyone pursuing licensed or ordained ministry.  However, this initial gathering is open to anyone who would like to learn more about the various types of set-apart ministry that exist within the United Methodist Church.  Information will be presented about the broad range of opportunities including CLM, professional certification, local pastor, and ordained ministry.
  • Track B:  noon – 3:00:  The afternoon session will be for those candidates who have completed the group candidacy process and are now looking for information regarding the Course of Study or seminary options.  Information regarding expectations after certification for local pastors, educational requirements and financial aid will be presented.  Track B is not a Disciplinary requirement but is strongly encouraged by our Board of Ministry.

Track A participants may stay for Track B if space is available.

Registration is required, but there is no registration fee.  Lunch will be provided for both tracks at noon.

All questions should be sent to Rev. Janet Lord, Coordinator of Ministerial Services (jflrd425@aol.com).

   Registration opens soon at wpaumc.org/events.
