Join Bishop for Tour of Wesley's England

Bishop Thomas J. Bickerton’s  2016 Wesleyan Heritage Tour to England will be his last as leader of Western PA United Methodists.

Laity and clergy from local churches are invited to travel with the group from April 17-26. Download a brochure for details.

Each year the Bishop invites the upcoming ordination class to join him to get in touch with their Wesleyan roots.

The group will visit the communities where John and Charles Wesley were born, educated, and began ministry. Seeing these places, Bishop Bickerton said, “helps us to remember a man who transformed an institution into a movement; who wasn’t afraid to take risks, who committed himself to life-long learning, who preached to people wherever they were; and found a way to step out of the pulpit and create the United Methodist way.

“Wesley found a way to get out of the church,” he said.  “He found a way into the world to fulfill his call.  He stepped out of the pulpit and into the lives of people.”

The cost of the tour, for those registering and paying after October 1, is $3499, including air fare from Pittsburgh, an air-conditioned motor coach, hotels, morning and evening meals and a tour guide.
