God's Country Stars to Shine in Butler
CONCERT CANCELED due to illness!!
A constellation of country gospel stars will align Sunday, Nov. 27 in a heavenly show of lively music and worship, hosted by Butler First United Methodist Church.
But for the stars themselves, it will just be a gathering of old friends.
They’ll include Tommy Brandt, the 2016 Inspirational Country Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year, with his son, guitarist Tommy Brandt II, the association’s Musician of the Year.
They’re meeting up with Butler First Church’s own Isaac Cole and Mikayla Lynn, the brother-sister performers who won the ICMA’s 2016 Vocal Duo of the Year. Isaac and Mikayla will open the concert with God’s Country Band, the country-music theme group that leads worship at one of Butler First Church’s three campuses.
The ICMA awards were presented in Nashville, Tenn., in October.
Sunday’s concert begins at 6 p.m. at the Crossfire campus, 1802 North Main St. Extension, 4 miles north of downtown Butler.
Isaac, 16, and Tommy Brandt share a unique friendship steeped in their love of performing inspirational country music. Isaac has been a Tommy Brandt fan since age 5, even though Brandt lives more than 1,000 miles away in the ranch region of Central Florida.
Brandt has followed and encouraged Isaac’s career, gave him permission to perform Brandt’s songs and helped Isaac write some songs of his own. He produced Isaac’s three CD albums: Country Boy, Just a Kid, and his new release, I’m Your Huckleberry.
Isaac’s prodigious career gained a national following earlier this year when he became a finalist in the American Idol televised talent competition.
