The Conference Evangelism Team invites nominations of individuals who make an outstanding effort to reach others for Christ to receive a 2016 Denman Award.
Each year at Annual Conference, the team presents the Harry Denman Award to a clergy person, layperson and youth who are excelling in the work of increasing the Kingdom of God, said the Rev. Al Kimmel, who coordinates the award process.
"The folks at the district and local church level are the ones who work with these “soul-winners” and it is our hope you will nominate them to receive this award. Nominating them lets them know you recognize their efforts and want them to be rewarded here as well as in heaven," he explained.
Harry Denman was a United Methodist lay person who sacrificed his time, talents and finances to win souls for Jesus Christ. The Evangelism Team wants to recognize others who follow Denman’s example and live out John Wesley’s words to Thomas Coke as he set sail for America, “Offer them Christ.”
The Conference Evangelism Team will select a winner in each category from the nominations submitted. The awards come from the Foundation for Evangelism in Lake Junalaska, NC.
The deadline for receiving nomination is May 20, 2016.
Nominations should be sent to: Pastor Al Kimmel at firstname.lastname@example.org or at:
3365 Pike Street
Herminie, PA 15637.
