Conference Celebrates Ministry of 26 Retiring Clergy
6/11/2018
Western PA clergy and laity celebrated the ministry of 26 retiring clergy with an evening worship service at the 2018 Annual Conference session at Grove City College. The service was highlighted by the engaging, enthusiastic, spirit-filled preaching of the Rev. Paul D. Taylor, who is retiring as Pittsburgh District Superintendent effective June 30.
Rev. Paul Taylor's Message
The clergy retiring from active ministry in 2018 represent a combined total of 774 years of ministry. Most served as local church pastors in urban, rural and suburban settings; one has been a college chaplain and teacher for most of his ministry; another, in addition to serving as pastor, was active in prison ministry and mission service in Latin America, Eastern Germany, Russia and Nicaragua. Some entered the ministry immediately after college and seminary; others were second-career pastors, answering their call later in life.
Their profiles were included in a booklet prepared for the worship celebration.
