The Conference Mission Ambassador program, launched more than 40 years ago by leaders with a passion for mission and desire to share mission stories, offers the opportunity to travel and study mission work in a particular area of the world. It is a unique approach to leadership development and mission interpretation.

Mission Ambassador Gerry Truog
Every two years the Mission Ambassador Committee selects two people to receive partial funding (approximately half the cost of the trip) to travel to the area of the world that will be studied at Mission u.  The Mission Ambassadors visit missionaries and mission projects and get an overview of what the church is doing in the selected study area.  When the ambassadors return to Western Pennsylvania, they serve as speakers, sharing information about mission; inspiring others to get involved, and encouraging donations and mission support.

In 2017-2018, the General Board of Global Ministries/UMW geographic mission study will focus on Missionary Conferences (Alaska, Oklahoma Indian, and Redbird Missionary Conferences).  If you have a passion for mission and a particular interest in the church at work in our missionary conferences, consider applying to become a Mission Ambassador.

The current Mission Ambassadors, Jodale Barnhart and Geraldine Truog, will continue to speak on Latin America until the 2017 Mission u next July.  Contact them to speak or answer questions -- Jodale Barnhart at jodalebarnhart@gmail.com or Geraldine Truog truogeraldine@hotmail.com).
