Team Participates in Zimbabwe Lay Academy

 A team of four Western PA laity, accompanied by Director of Connectional Ministries Greg Cox and Zimbabwe Partnership Coordinator Sandra Matoushaya, traveled to Zimbabwe to visit ministry sites and teach along with Zimbabwe church leaders at a Lay Academy.

The theme of the Lay Academy, held at Africa University's main campus, was "Developing Effective Lay Leadership". The academy is sponsored in partnership with the Western PA Conference.  

Western Pennsylvanians leading session at the academy, and their subjects, are: 

• Bonnie Harr who will address discovering and using spiritual gifts.
• Donna Doutt of Faith Community UMC in Rochester, Balancing Church and Home
• Annette Swart of Scandia, Conflict Management, and
• Lorren Riggle of Charter Oak UMC. Use of Technology in the Church. 

The subjects were selected by Zimbabwe church leaders.
