The Conference United Methodist Women announced three winners of the Scholarship for Christian Vocation given this spring. They are: Michael Airgood, Nicole Crouch and Samantha Penwell.
Michael Airgood has returned this week from Ukraine, where he was a General Board of Global Ministries Missionary working with a student ministry in L'viv. . Michael will attend the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary while serving as pastor of Pine Run UMC in Clairton PA.
Nicole Crouch graduated from college in 2012 and has been working with the homeless as a case manager until she realized the pull of the ministry could no longer be put off. In the fall of 2014 she will begin classes at Wesley Theological Seminary to pursue her Master of Divinity with a concentration in Urban Studies.
Samantha Penwell has graduated from Asbury University with a degree in Chemistry and will enter Asbury Theological Seminary in the fall with hopes of within becoming a full Elder in Western PA Conference within six years.
"We are pleased to be able to help these three worthy students as they begin their journey to answer God's call in their lives and hope to be able to help them again and many more as they begin their journeys," said Bonnie Wilson of the UMW.
