Spotlight on Camping: Jumonville
This week the focus is on Jumonville near Uniontown, PA.
At Jumonville everyone is excited about both the classic camps that have been a part of the the place for years, and the events that are new and keeping things fresh.
If you love sports then Elementary Sports Camp with Tim Piper is the place to be. Jumonville's sports events feature a well-rounded camp program with both basic instruction and time to play. Careful attention is paid to age-group abilities and interests. Typical Sports include activities such as: street hockey, tennis, badminton, baseball, flag football, swimming, soccer, and volleyball. Bible Study and worship are an essential part of sports camps.
If you are ready to rock out, then Rock the Mountain Music Camp with B.J. and Bo Collins is just right for you. Rock the Mountain Music Camp is a place where musicians come together to form a modern Christian rock band in a week’s time. Campers will learn and perform new Christian Rock music as well as old standards with a new twist. Guitarists, singers, bass players, keyboardists, and drummers are all invited. Some experience is recommended but not necessary. Each day, campers will work on their individual music skills, practice as a group, and also look into how modern Christian music can be used to bring us closer to God. Traditional camp activities like Bible study, hiking, swimming, and campfires, are also part of the daily routine. Drums and keyboards will be provided. All other musicians are asked to bring their own instruments, acoustic or electric.
In addition to these events there are camps for all ages throughout the summer. Visit wpaumc.org/camping fo
