Lent and Holy week are times of focus, fasting, preparation, and introspection. On Easter Sunday, our spirits are uplifted as we remember the resurrection and the new life that comes with it. This season brings a sense of renewal for the coming seasons.
This is true for many of us in the pews; however the exhaustion, stress, and anxiety of work that is done in this season leaves many of our clergy feeling drained and run down. Post-Holy week is the perfect time to encourage your Pastor to take time for a personal/spiritual retreat.
The camping and retreat ministry of our Annual Conference understands the importance of clergy personal renewal through retreat experiences. That is why each of our facilities offers free or nearly-free stays for clergy. We invite you to stay in Mary Cottage at Jumonville, Hawthorn Cabin at Camp Allegheny, Motel Units at Wesley Woods, or a comfortable room at Olmsted Manor. Stay for one night or for a week. Take time to relax, refresh, and be drawn deeper into personal faith.
Invite your Pastor to contact any of our camp and retreat facilities for more information, and to book a time after Holy Week to get away and renew.
